North Dakota Claims NCC Swimming & Diving Championships
2/21/04
North Dakota captured both the men’s and women’s NCC Swimming & Diving Championships that concluded today. On the women’s side, North Dakota outdistanced Nebraska-Omaha 965 to 782 while the UND men had a 1228 to 935 advantage over second-place South Dakota. The meet began on Wednesday and was comprised of a morning and evening session each day at the Hyslop Sports
Center Pool.
Rodrigo Ferreira of North Dakota set new marks in the 200 backstroke with a clocking of 1:50.87 in the morning preliminaries and posted a time of :45.26 in the 100 freestyle finals. The North Dakota men’s 400 freestyle relay team of Fernando Alves, Andy Burckhard, Rodrigo Ferreira and Sebastian Andersson set a new NCC record with a time of 3:01.13.

2/23/04 – Seniors Fernando Jacome (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Adam Clements (Glastonbury, Conn.) headlined outstanding performances by the Southern Connecticut men's swim team, which defended its title at the Metropolitan Conference swimming and
diving championships held at the Sonny Werblin Center at Rutgers University.

Hamilton Sweeps Team Titles at UCAA Swimming and Diving Championships
Rochester, NY - Hamilton College swept the men's and women's team championships, three individual awards, and shared the Coach of the Year award at the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships being hosted by the University of Rochester. full story

Feb 18 -- Wesleyan Women, Salem International Men Claim WVIAC Swim Crowns
West Virginia Wesleyan’s women and Salem International’s men earned the WVIAC swim championships last weekend at Wooster, Ohio. The WVIAC meet was held in conjunction with the Bluegrass Mountain Swim Conference meet. Matej Thomas (Fairmont State) and Tron Johnson (Wheeling Jesuit) shared Men’s Swimmer of the Year accolades. Wesleyan’s Monica Heinrich was the Women’s Swimmer of the Year.
