The Chicago Academy of Sciences
Founded in 1857, this museum specializes in the ecology
and natural history of the Midwest. It is located in Chicago's Lincoln Park.
The Exploratorium Hands-on museum of science, art, and
human perception in San Francisco. Site provides interactive online exhibits and
exhibitions, activities, science news, and publications, general information
about the museum.
Harvard Museum of Natural History
The public museum of three institutions at
Harvard University: the Botanical Museum, the Museum of Comparative Zoology, and
the Mineralogical and Geological Museum.
Lawrence Hall of Science Public science
museum and research center for K-12 education at the University of California,
Berkeley. LHS offers hands-on science exhibits, discovery laboratories, computer
labs, planetarium shows, after-school classes and summer camps, family
workshops, special events, school programs and teacher education.
Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, UC Berkeley
Research institute holding large research and teaching

The Natural
History Museum: Dino Directory At some
point, just about every kid becomes obsessed with dinosaurs. When T. rex starts
to make an impression at your house, head for The Natural History Museum: Dino
Directory. Find specific thunder lizards by picking a name, time period,
country, or body shape: You’ll get information on the species and color pictures
of what the beast may have looked like. (It turns out that what is today the
U.S. was home to a whopping 28 species, including the creepy iguanodon.) For
