Net2Phone Calling All Chatters
Those who were online five years ago may remember the "Net Phone" software
packages that had the phone companies in a brief snit. Because they were
complicated, hard to use, and plagued by pauses and bad sound quality (remember,
14.4Kbps was blazingly fast at the time), they never emerged as any kind of real
threat—but it's time for Ma Bell to start looking over her shoulder again. IM
programs are incorporating voice chat into their software, making it almost as
easy to talk as to type: All you need is a computer with speakers and a
microphone. MSN Messenger and AIM both let you make free calls from computer to
computer, as well as calls from your PC to someone's phone with a prepaid
Net2Phone account. Yahoo! Messenger also offers free PC-to-PC talk, with
international PC-to-phone calls running 4 cents per minute.

iVillage.com: Pet Name Finder Unless you're a nostalgia buff, pet names such as Rover and Fido just don't do the trick. George W. Bush probably didn't spend much time coming up with the handle Spot for his dog. If you need a respectable moniker for a puppy or kitten, try iVillage.com: Pet Name Finder. Choose by category, such as Art, Musicians, or Odds and Ends, and then pick a letter of the alphabet or a gender. You can also vote for your favorite here; when we stopped by, Rocky was the top choice.
