New ERIC Web site is scheduled to open
September 1, 2004.
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded a five-year,
$34.6 million contract to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) of Rockville, Md.,
along with its subcontractors, to develop and operate a new database system for
the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC). The ERIC database will use
the latest search and retrieval methods to cull education literature and give
high-quality access to educators, researchers, and the general public.

ERIC is the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), a federally-funded national
information system that provides, through its 16 subject-specific
clearinghouses, associated adjunct clearinghouses, and support components, a
variety of services and products on a broad range of education-related issues.
The resources at askeric.org have moved to a new
home
This new site includes the 2000 lesson plans, 3000
value-added pointers to education information & organizations, and 200 question
archives you have been accessing at askeric.org for over 10 years. You can also
continue to access the ERIC database at the Educator's Reference Desk. Please
visit this new site (www.eduref.org)
today!
The AskERIC site and question-answer service itself was
discontinued on December 19, 2003. Below is the official notice from the U. S.
