This meet is an opportunity for all
high school swimmers to compete in a championship format meet. There is
opportunity for swimmers to compete in events not offered in the normal high
school dual meet schedule. It is open only to high school swim teams in the
Southwestern District of the OHSAA.

and 18 at Beavercreek YMCA, Countryside YMCA, Miami University "A", Miami
University "B", Milford High School, Princeton High School, and Wright State
University.

6:45 AM - Warm-up
7:45 AM - Clear pool and coaches meeting
8:00 AM - Preliminaries
8:00 AM at Countryside YMCA short ecumenical services followed by swimming
preliminaries.

Rules |
Entry is limited to swimmers and
divers competing for their high school. A swimmer may compete in four (4)
events each day, no more than two (2) of which can be individual events.
Each team is limited to six (6) individuals per event except in the 50 yard
events the limit is eighteen (18) per event and in the 100 freestyle events
the limit is twelve (12) per event.

It is important that coaches understand entering both days of this meet will
count as two of 16 allowable regular school season meets. Schools may enter
more than one relay but only one relay can score team points. Only one relay
team per school can swim at night.

NOTE: Disqualified relay swimmers
in Prelims cannot compete on another relay in finals in the same event.

All entries must be sent directly to
the entry chairperson of each pool by 4:00 PM on Wednesday,
January 7, 2004.

All entries must be done e-mail. The event file will be posted on the 2004
Classic's web site (http://www.swimmeet.com/classic04). You will download
the event file and enter your swimmers. E-mail the entry to the meet entry
chairperson for your pool.

Swimming and Diving Rules |

Rules |
Unless specified differently, the
meet will be governed by the 2003-2004 National Federation of State High
School Association - Swimming and Diving rulebook.

Competition |
All competitors must have a coach
present at all sessions to compete. Medical release forms are to be with the
coach (or school representative) at all times. A school representative may
replace the coach provided he/she have written approval, in hand, from the
School Administrator.

The top sixteen (16) swimmers in the
prelims will advance to the finals. The eight (8) fastest will swim in the
Championship heat and the next eight (8) fastest will swim in the
Consolation heat.

Prelims will be at seven(7) locations. The results from each event at each
location will be transmitted to a central site where the qualifiers for
finals will be determined and then transmitted back for posting. Qualifier
listings will also be posted on the the 2004 Classic's web site
(http://www.swimmeet.com/classic04).

All qualifiers have thirty (30) minutes after the final posting of event's
qualifier listing to scratch finals without penalty.

The 500 Freestyle and 400 IM will be timed finals with the fastest sixteen
(16) swimming at the finals.

The 1650 Freestyle will be a timed final with the fastest eight (8) swimming
at the finals. Swimmers in the 1650 Freestyle must enter a 500 yard time
from the current season (no 1650 Freestyle times will be accepted).

Coaches, you must be able to prove these times (i.e. 400 IM, 500 Freestyle
and 500 Freestyle for 1650 Freestyle) with meet results from either High
School, USA or YMCA meets for the current season or from last year's
Classic.

Proof shall be provided by positive check-in at the prelim site by 10:00 AM
Saturday. Failure to prove the time shall result in the competitor being
removed from that event. The 1650 Freestyle will be swum fastest to slowest,
alternating girls and boys.

400 IM can be entered with a 200 IM time (i.e. 2:20.00 for boys, 2:30.00 for
girls. 400 IM times will be seeded as the fast times allowing those with
legitimate 400 IM times to be seeded in the evening finals.

Every time entered in events with a qualifying time must be proved. Bring
meet results with you.
